Started a few years back we picked up a sewing machine, a 1901 Singer treadle machine, it was in good physical condition just a little stuck from sitting in a damp garage.
Brought home and did an initial evaluation of machine and cabinet, machine stuck and missing shuttle. Cabinet in great condition did not need to do anything with it.
So as it stands if we leave it as is it makes a great living room front window piece, but Colleen wants to sew with this machine, possibly take it to shows and use as our demo machine and have fun with it.
Over the next few weeks I will show and describe the journey of this machine and how it turned me from a “sewing, no I can’t do that” to “wow never new this could be so much fun” and to where we are now 7 machines into this collection, the oldest being 1901 to the newest being 2024. From Singers, Brothers to Kenmores, the brand name doesn’t matter to me, it is the repairing (if needed) and using the machines each one has its own personality and it is fun to get to know them.
Come along with me on these journeys, lets learn, explore and have fun together.
Thanks, Jeff
